Program Description

The Mammography certificate program prepares students to sit for the national certification examination in mammography offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). The Program meets MOSA initial education requirements for mammographers and continuing education. This program leads to a technical certificate and can usually be completed in one semester.

Admissions Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. 

ALL applicants to the Mammography program are required to complete an application for admission to the college. Please indicate "Mammography" on the application form as your intended program of study. https://www.laniertech.edu/Admissions/Admissions-application.aspx.

Applicants transferring from other colleges must have their official transcript sent directly to the LTC Office of Admissions after they apply for admission to the college. It is the student's responsibility to confirm transferability of equivalent coursework with the LTC Registrar before the application deadline.

Applicants to the Mammography program must meet the following requirement:

  Registered technologist in radiography in good and regular standing. ARRT status will be verified by the Admissions Department via www.arrt.org.

Acceptance into the Mammography program will be on a first come, first serve basis. There is no wait list; applicants have to reapply every year.

Students currently enrolled in the Lanier Technical College Radiography Program may be granted provisional acceptance contingent upon providing a passing ARRT National Certification Exam score (if space allows).

The deadline for a completed application to the college is November 30.

Accepted students will receive an email regarding a mandatory virtual Mammography program orientation that will be held in the evening during the first week of December.
