Academic Grades
Grades on the transcript will be recorded as letter grades. A program GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 is required for graduation. A minimum grade of "C" may be required for progress from specified courses to more advanced courses. The following grading scale is used for all Lanier Technical College students:
A = 90 – 100
B = 80 – 89
C = 70 – 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 59 and below
I = Incomplete
W = Withdrew
WM = Military Withdrawal
AC = Articulated Credit
AU = Audit (Non-Credit)
EXE = Credit by Exam
EXP = Credit by Portfolio
TR, TRA, TRB, TRC = Transfer Credit
A* - F* = Learning Support
IP = In Progress for Learning Support
- The grade of “I” indicates a student was issued an Incomplete. The missing work must be completed and the instructor’s grade correction submitted to change the “I” to a letter grade of “A”, “B”, “C”, or “D” before mid-term of the following semester or it will be automatically converted to a grade of “F”.
- The grade of “W” indicates that a student officially withdrew from classes by the withdrawal deadline of the academic term as noted on the academic calendar. No withdrawals will be processed after the withdrawal period ends. Students who do not officially withdraw from classes will be assigned the grades earned. This grade is not included in the calculation of grade point averages but may impact financial aid eligibility.
- Learning Support courses are graded on an A* - F* scale. Learning support hours are counted as attempted hours but are not included in a student’s grade point average.
