BUAS 1025 Electronic Fundamentals for BAS

This course introduces electrical safety, use of electrical tools, use of test instruments, electrical units of measure, engineering prefixes, wire sizing calculations, electrical components, transformers, and identification of hardware associated with commercial electrical installations. Emphasis is placed on understanding electric circuits to include circuit components, wire identification, wire sizing, good wiring practices, wire connectors, circuit calculations, and meter use. Topics include: safety, tool use, electric units, test meters, circuits, safety devices, switches, loads, wiring practices, transformers, electrical component identification, code use, and hardware. The course includes a survey of the NEC (NFPA 70) with a focus on the table of content, Article 90, and wiring tables.
