BUAS 1045 Digital Logic and Controllers
This course introduces electrical principles, electronic devices, digital circuits, and communications internal to digital controllers. Emphasis is placed on microprocessor controls and the interpretation of logic circuits found in digital control systems. Topics include: safety, resistor color code, circuit calculations, semiconductors, power supplies, polarity sensitive, integrated circuits, digital circuits, Boolean expressions, logic gates, logic families, microprocessors, microcontrollers, number systems, truth tables, controller hardware, input/output, signal conversion between analog and digital devices, and software tools. Student use of software such as MS Visio, The Constructor, Multisim, is suggested.
