BUAS 2035 Planning and Design for BAS
This course introduces the principles of system design and specifying practices for a new commercial projects and upgrades to existing buildings. This course is intended as a project-based course where students develop BAS projects following the steps defined in ASHRAE Guideline 13. Emphasis is placed on the implementation of ASHRAE Guideline 13 for specifying BAS for commercial BAS projects. Topics include development of project specifications including: performance requirements, system architecture, communication protocols, IO structure, hardware selection, program configuration, system testing, remote standards, commissioning, and project documentation. Recommended project: Students develop a portfolio/presentation of the final project. Suggested Software: use of software tools (such as MS Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint).
